The court cards are as follows: Kings, Queens, and Jacks. These represent people. Either the person you are reading for (questioner), a person they know, or someone about to come into their life. In tarot, these cards can represent situations or desirable states of mind…where as in Cartomancy its a flat out person.
Kings represent men
Queens represent women.
Jacks however, are more open to the way they can be interpreted.
Concerning Jacks: They can be a child, or an adolescent of either sex ,especially if they are accompanied by a King or Queen.
They could symbolize a partner or someone in love or a person at work who is younger than the questioner. If they appear with a King or a Queen of the same suit, then the Jack could represent the THOUGHTS of that person. If this happens then the cards around them will take on the form of a more detailed aspect. They are loving thoughts if surrounded by Hearts, sinister or malicious ones if surrounded by spades and so on. (there will be more detail on that further on) A jack can also represent someone seeking knowledge from someone older.
