Feeding Dogs and Cats… Dogs and Cats?

www.chscarlett.net babies

So a friend of mine who absolutely adores her babies was going through all kinds of health issues with them. I can’t even tell you the thousands of dollars she spent on her two little dogs and the many life threatening issues they suffered with. And it wasn’t because she was slack in what she fed them, or handled them, or how she cared for them. These animals were her life. She bought the very expensive dog foods that the Vets recommended, paid the high prices concerning tests, medicine, and so forth. But her dogs weren’t getting any better and the Vets (since she kept going for other opinions) came up empty handed with more "Well it might be this…" rather than, "Ah ha! Its this and here’s the cure!"

Fed up, she began to look into their dog food. The very expensive stuff that the VET told her to give her animals. And since she believed her dogs suffered from digestive problems rather than the cancers, tumors, and crazy things the Vets went looking for, she discovered some very starling facts. That’s when she emailed me and that’s when I wigged out—having animals of my own.

Despite the appealing blandishments of pet food advertisements with their claims of providing "complete and balanced nutrition," if you’re not exceedingly circumspect, you may end up feeding your pet chicken heads, road kills, spoiled or moldy grains, cancerous material cut from slaughterhouse animals, tissue high in hormone or pesticide residues, and even shredded Styrofoam packaging, metal ID tags and minced flea collars. Did you know dogs have the opportunity to live to be 27 years old, and cats around 30?

The pet nutrition industry is a multi-billion dollar industry full of hype and false claims. Consumers are being duped into believing that they are feeding their pets healthy foods, when in actuality they are feeding nothing more than inferior meat meals, cheap grains (including corn and soy), fillers, by-products, pesticides, preservatives and toxins.  Never before has the pet-food industry been rocked by widespread contamination and rampant recalls. In all, more than 5,600 products by dozens of pet food makers have been recalled, from chain supermarket brands to prescription-only foods. This is a staggering number of products, and is unprecedented in this business. Thousands of deaths are due to the contamination, and many thousands more have suffered illnesses. We shudder to think of the long-term impacts of the compromised liver and kidney function and how this will affect thousands of companion animals in America. Leading experts believe that the severe reactions experienced by some cats and dogs were the result of an interaction of chemicals, between the melamine and a list of other culprits, including cyuranic acid. Read the latest about the pet food recall. Thousands of Cats and dogs suffered kidney failure, and many died after eating the affected pet food. SOURCE

And here is something even more SHOCKING!!!! That dog food or cat food probably contain Euthanized, drugged, and sick Animals.

And yeah, the above video is selling dog food BUT, listen to the message—and no I am not endorsing the food because I don’t trust anyone now.

I can tell you this…my friend started making her own dog food for their dogs (because there is books out there telling you how). She hasn’t been to the vet but one time since, and her doggies are happy, healthy, and the thousands of dollars and many trips she spent over the last few years a bad memory.

I have known about things like this for years, and it trained me to read every label of food that i get for my furry familiars.

It is scary that we continue to allow these kinds of foods to be manufactured as well as feeding it to our animals that we are supposed to love and care for.

    good post Casey!

  2. I never knew until my friend told me. I could have kicked myself though. Common sense means they wouldn’t feed animals any better than they feed us lol. So, was really upset with myself that I didn’t clue in before hand.

After researching my dogs food I also was appalled by the ingredients and made the switch to Force.

It’s made with 100% all natural ingredients, starting with USDA grade Chicken.

That’s why you should not feed your pet anything with “animal byproduct”. My vet confirmed what I already knew.
