Free Kids Countdown to Christmas Calendars 2011

Yep, I know I am 2 days late, but the good thing in about that is, you can already let your kid mark off a few days, get them going, and give them an idea of how fun this is.

Every year for Xmas, I make these for my kids. We PRINT them out, (each kid gets their own copy) and then we hang them on the wall. Every night before bedtime, they get to take a crayon or marker and X off the day.

My kids love this and it helps the parent out as well. You won’t hear “Is it Xmas yet?” so much and the kids get to learn how to figure it out for themselves.

I have TWO calendars this year—since everyone wrote me loving the past two I did, well, I just revamped them with the correct days.

Below is a PREVIEW (only) of each calendar.

If you want it for your kids, just CLICK THE LINK BELOW THE CALENDAR (will take you to my photobucket album) and RIGHT CLICK AND SAVE.

Then print them off, and hang them up.

ALSO NOTE THESE ARE FREE—RIGHT CLICK AND SAVE—Photobucket has an option where you can order prints, but there is nooooooooooooooooo need….just right click and save folks, then print them off yourself!

You can also just click on the preview pic, right click and save as from my WordPress Album.

As I said, this has become a tradition that my kids love. It adds to the Xmas decorations of your home—since you do hang them on the wall. I suggest printing out a calendar for each child, though. I did just one, and my kids argued over who got to X out the day…giving them their own just makes them feel as though they have something that is theirs and theirs alone. Even my teenager loves these things—yes, still lol.

Anyway, as in all previous years—from me to YOU. Merry Christmas!!!!

You can share these, but please do not CHANGE anything. Thanks a bunch. No copyright infringement intended.

December 2010 Desktop Wallpaper & a Christmas Calendar for the Kids!

Ok, I have two freebies up for December. One for the adults and one for the kids. Let’s start off with the Adult one.

PREVIEW ONLY!!!!!

December Preview

Above is the preview for the December Wallpaper Calendar for Desktop. It’s a wintry scene, with moons, and the most popular holidays of the month like New Years Eve and Christmas. I kept it simple this month because everyone will no doubt be slammed with all other kinds of chaos. Plenty of room on your desktop as well.

Share these all you want, but please keep the originals. Click the link below for your screen size. Then right click and save as.

CHRISTMAS CALENDAR FOR THE KIDS

Preview ONLY!!!!!

Xmas Countdown Preview

There is only ONE size for this one…because it’s not made for Desktop…. but rather for you to PRINT OUT.

Here is what you do….

Print out the Calendar for your kids. Then let your child X off the days. I do one for each of my children. I hang it on the wall by the Christmas tree and then tie a crayon to it with string. Every night before bed, they get to mark off a day. And they look forward to counting down to Christmas.

You can even add your own important dates to this.

For example, if on the 21st, the kids are supposed to bake cookies with Grandma, then write it on the calendar. If on the 9th, you are taking the kids to get a tree, write it on the calendar.  If on the 5th, you are taking GIFTS to the needy…then put it on the Calendar and get the kids involved.

This is a cool and fun way for the kids to get some fun throughout December. And a way they can keep track of things.

CLICK TO SAVE BIG SIZE FOR PRINTING

And remember, it’s the little things you do with kids that MAKE their Christmas. They are only small but for so long. So enjoy them while you can….after all, what would Christmas be without THEM?

PREVIEW

PREVIEWNovemberwww.CHSCARLETT.net

Above is the preview for the new Desktop Wallpaper for NOVEMBER 2010.

PLEASE DO NOT SAVE THE PREVIEW!!!

It will not fit right on your screen, folks. Will be a blurry nightmare.  If you need a BIGGER preview, just click on one of the size links below.

If you like it, then just click the link sizes below after reading the calendar details, right click, and save as.

Calendar includes:

Moon Dates & a few cool and possible favorite holidays. I dig lore, ancient history and such, so if I catch something cool that might have happened way back in the day, then I include it. As far as major holidays concerning our present time, I include those to, or the most common ones.

~If you want the calendar without the moons, let me know~

Inspiration:

November is known as the Snow Moon, or the Frosty Moon. So this calendar is my version of when Autumn meets Winter.  We have the last bit of Fall-rich-colors and then the frosty first kisses of frost and snow. Oh and don’t forget the castle. I love dreamy scenes where maybe someone is reminiscing or day dreaming of yesterday and nights long past.

Is this REALLY free?

Yep. For those who come by every month, they can contest that all my calendars are free. I don’t like taking donations for something I am making anyway, so please don’t email me offering any. If you want to show some support, though,…then please check out my books Wyntress Nyght’s Supernatural Crack or The Web & the Willow. Many, MANY thanks if you do .

Calendar Guidelines

Feel free to add your own holidays and such, but when sharing, please don’t change anything on the wallpaper or the file names. Share the original. You can upload these to your site, but please drop me a little credit. I’d REALLY appreciate it. Pass them around through email, twitter, facebook, whatever. Just again, when sharing–please share the originals.

If you need a different size, then just leave me a comment below and tell me what size you want. I will be happy to make it for you,

Calendars are stashed in my online PHOTOBUCKET album–saving space on my WordPress account.

In Egypt, Osiris goes forth to Abydos, or so was written on their Calendar way back in the Ancient day.

And for those who follow the Runes (a special thanks to Odin for giving them to us) today marks the Runic Half Month of Gyfu. Gyfu is unity as which stands between the GIVER and the recipient of a gift.

Calendar includes: Moon Dates & my favorite of all holidays!!!!!! Hallows EVE!!!!

(If you want the calendar without the moons, let me know)

Inspiration: This one is Autumn meets Hallows Eve and everything that Autumn represents or makes me think/dream of. Don’t forget that Hallows Eve is when the veil between the world is the thinnest, so the eyes staring into the realm of that (a mild that) kind of represents our eyes seeing past the walls. Anyway, hope you dig it.

Feel free to add your own holidays and such, but when sharing, please don’t change anything on the wallpaper. Share the original.

Mythical Calendar: Roman Feasts, Sacred Torches, & Lighting Fires: September 13, 2010

Monday

Rome

Can you say Lectisternium three times fast? How about just once? Well whether you can or can’t, way back in the Ancient Day of Rome, they could . . . and today marked a festival called just that for their gods and Goddess: Jupiter, Juno, and Minerva.

Lectisternium probably wasn’t for every Roman out there. If a person felt they had unusual good fortune up until this point, then they would lay paintings or images of Jupiter, Juno, and Minerva out on a lectus (cool word for Roman couch) and then would place a plate of food in front of them. Meanwhile, everyone else in the household would partake in their own type of feast.

Also, today would have been the Ides of September.

Runes, Runes, Runes

For those of you who appreciate Odin‘s self sacrifice in order to deliver unto us the Runes, then mark your calendars because today, KEN, begins its Runic Half-Month. This is an interesting rune to say the least. Ken represents a flaming torch that lives inside the royal Halls (I am guessing ASGUARD.) That flame is the transition of natural materials into mystical ones.

Ancient Egypt

It seems we have even more fires because today would have been the Festival of Lighting the Fires of Neith. Remember, Neith is one of the more older deities of Egypt. She was said to be the spirit of the great waters and having given birth to Ra–the sun god. She also gave life to Apep, the very controversial serpent, who in its beginnings was sacred with respect but then later, Egyptian Priests of Ra created him to be the arch-nemesis of Ra himself.

Ides of September, Lectisternium, Runic Half Month of Ken, Lighting the Fire

Monday Represents:

Monday (moon day) is the day of the Moon Goddess, Selene, Luna, & Mani.

~

Mondays are an awesome day to take care of matters or magical rituals and spells concerning:

Traveling, memory, one’s instinct, sharpening or increasing Psychic abilities, dreams, healing, home, ancestors and of course, family.

~

Monday belongs to the Moon and the Element of Water

Calendar includes: Moon Dates

(If you want the calendar without the moons, let me know)

Inspiration: This one is my farewell to…Summer’s End. I was kind of in the mood of one door closing, another opening…seems like our life is filled with these kinds of seasons and changes. And as far as Summer goes, I am not sure where it went…I just know that its saying good-bye. The calendar includes a lot of magic—because ya’w know I am knee deep in all things Paranormal. I dig the Fantasy aspect too…so here goes it. Maybe what I did will have you day  or night dreaming your own meaning.

Above is the preview for the new Desktop Wallpaper for July 2010.

(If you like it, then just click the link sizes below, right click, and save as)

Inspiration: When people think of summertime, they often imagine sunsets, oceans, or lakes of blue. I don’t. I think of moonlit summer nights, starry skies, fireflies, hazy dreams, wishes, lovers secretly meeting within the shadows, and all sorts of magical things. That’s what inspired this wallpaper.  If you like it, then please share it with all of your friends. And if you really like it, keep checking back because I think I’m going to make this a Free Wallpaper without the Calendar part just so people can use it whenever.

Feel free to add your own holidays and such, but when sharing, please don’t change anything on the wallpaper.

This wallpaper has the moon dates but NO holidays since everyone lives in a different place, celebrating different things.

There is a solar eclipse this month, though, so keep an eye out for that.

(If you need a different size, then just leave me a comment below and tell me what size you want. I will be happy to make it for you, and load it up to my Photobucket Album.)

Two Sizes:

ENJOY!!!! And again, please share with all of your friends!

Free April 2010 Desktop Wallpaper Calendar Is Ready!

(Please do not save the preview as it is a small size and will NOT fit on your desktop very well as a Wallpaper.)

Because I am a writer, this month I decided to do the Desktop Wallpaper a little softer as if it were a story rising off of the pages. I didn’t want to do anything 3D crazy, just something supple that might sweep you away into your daydreams every time you look at it.

The Fantasy Wallpaper features some holidays (but nothing insane or cluttering), moon phases (as always), and a day or setting of the sun on one side and a mystical moon scene on the other. There are gentle colors because spring is just beginning and there is a ton of room around the border to put your desktop icons without  running them into the actual picture. That way you can keep everything neat and organized.

I hope you enjoy, if not…tell me what you didn’t like so we can maybe fix it. If you like it, then do shout out because it encourages me to keep making them.

Click on the size below and it will take you to my Photo bucket album where you can RIGHT CLICK and SAVE AS.

Size 1024 x 768

Size 1680 x 1050

Size 1680 x 1200

I didn’t make a 800x 600 anymore because I was unsure if everyone still used this size or not. If you do, shout so I can get one sized. If there is a size you use that isn’t here, let me know as well. if its a common one, I will make that too.

As always, you can add your own information to these but when sharing with others, please use the originals.

March 2010 Desktop Wallpaper Calendar!!!!!!

I’ve got a HUGE treat for everyone. If you like the art used for March’s calendar, (below) then watch for the next post where you can get it without the Calendar portion.

Now for our preview for March!!!!!!!!!!

*drum roll* please!

WyntressNyghtCalanderCHScarlettPREVIEW

Also, do NOT right click and save the preview above—it will not look good on your desktop since the size is too small.

For sizes, scroll after reading info listed below…

I have been freezing my fanny off! What about you? So this month, I decided to heat things up especially since Spring Equinox will be hitting us and hopefully, bringing with it some WARMER weather!

Anyway, if you dig the fiery setting above, then you can thank Wyntress Nyght’s Supernatural Crack because I used the art that went into making her cover.

Now for the sizes:

Pick the size below that you want—click the link and you will be taken to my Photobucket album where you can RIGHT CLICK AND SAVE. Once you save it to your computer, simply go into the file you have it, right click again and choose SET AS DESKTOP WALLPAPER.

Or you click START, SETTINGS, CONTROL Panel, and go into your desktop from there, manually putting it on.

Let me know if you like these so I can make sure to create more next month (with different art of course). Oh, and you add your own calendar info to these AND can share ALL you want…just make sure to share the originals, ok? Thank you so much!

Also, if your desktop size is not below, and its a common one I’ve missed, shout at me, so I can start making those sizes.

Notice the flaming moon art announcing moon phases. I just loved those!

1680 x 1050

1024 x 768

1280 x 800

800 x 600

Also take note, since I am making so many of these now, I have made a new category for them—Desktop Wallpapers—but only this month will be under there since the category is new.
